As the UK moves towards meeting Net Zero by 2050 and more conversations are being had around gas boilers being banned, is it about time you consider training in another area of heating?

Lets face it, chances are there will always be a place in the world for a gas engineer – they aren’t going to disappear overnight! However, with consumers being more conscious of their impact on the environment they are considering what their options are when it comes to heating their homes.

LCL Awards offer a Level 3 in Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps (non- refrigerant Circuits) 601/2504/4. This course is for engineers wishing to upskill their existing qualifications and is great introduction to renewable heating with installation and maintenance of heat pumps.

When you complete this course at the Energy Academy, we ensure you learn;

  • Heat pump design
  • Components
  • Fault diagnosis and solutions
  • Installation and commissioning
  • Test, commissioning, and customer handover
  • Inspect, service and maintenance

 

As with all our courses we will encourage you to learn not only in a classroom but also practically. To enrol on this course, we would ask you to ideally have a Water Regulations certificate, and one of the below:

  • Level 2 or 3 in plumbing in heating & ventilation / gas / oil
  • ACS Core qualifications (certificate)
  • OFTEC qualifications (certificate)
  • HETAS qualification (certificate)

 

Following completion of the training course, you will be assessed with two online multiple choice assessment papers and alongside  theo -based assessments in the centre.
